Description: The sponsor awards scholarships annually to Colorado students. The program is open to students of all ethnicities; applicants must be of Hispanic heritage and/or actively involved in the Hispanic community. The sponsor awards funds to qualified students who have demonstrated a commitment to the Hispanic community. A review committee will select finalists based on the following: Academic achievement; Financial need; Community involvement; Letters of recommendation; Personal essay; Person interview of finalists.

Description: The sponsor provides scholarships to lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender students (LGBT) to help meet the costs of higher education
Eligibility: Applicants must maintain a GPA of at least 3.3 on a 4.0 scale; engage in a service project; and attend a college in the United States. Applicants need not be LGBT, but must have a demonstrated commitment to leadership within the LGBT community. All levels of education are eligible for funding.
Award Amount: The average scholarship award per scholar is $13,600. The awards cover tuition, books, supplies, room and board, transportation, and living expenses. Recipients are also in contact with a support network of professionals willing to be personally involved in their well-being and future success.

Description: This award will provide full support to an outstanding graduate student for the academic year (non-renewable).

Description: The sponsor will award scholarships to qualified Hispanic students who are enrolled or are planning to enroll in accredited colleges or universities in the United States.
Eligibility: Applicants must meet the following criteria to be considered for a scholarship: Must be a U.S. citizen or legal resident; Must have applied to or be enrolled as a full-time student in a college, university, or graduate school, including 2-year colleges, or vocational schools that lead to an associate?s degree. A student will not be eligible for a scholarship if he/she is related to a scholarship committee member, the Council President, or an individual contributor to the local funds of the Council.

Description: CHCI Scholarship Program Description CHCI's scholarship opportunities are afforded to Latino students in the United States who have a history of performing public service-oriented activities in their communities and who demonstrate a desire to continue their civic engagement in the future. There is no GPA or academic major requirement. Students with excellent leadership potential are encouraged to apply.
Eligibility: Eligibility Criteria •Full-time enrollment in a United States Department of Education accredited community college, four-year university, or graduate/professional program during the period for which scholarship is requested •Demonstrated financial need •Consistent, active participation in public and/or community service activities •Strong writing skills •U.S. citizenship or legal permanent residency
Award Amount: CHCI scholarships provide recipients with a one time scholarship of: •$1,000 community college or AA/AS granting institution •$2,500 4-year academic institution •$5,000 graduate-level institution Scholarship awards are intended to provide assistance with tuition, room and board, textbooks, and other educational expenses associated with college enrollment. In an effort to ensure the progress of scholarship recipients and encourage completion of the postsecondary program, each scholarship award is divided over the number of years required for graduation. (i.e. a $2,500 scholarship for a college freshman will be distributed in four equal installments of $625 a year). Students continue to receive annual disbursements as long as they maintain good academic standing. CHCI manages the disbursement of the scholarships; an annual check is sent directly to recipients.

Description: Native American Legacy Award: This award reduces tuition for non-resident students who are citizens of tribes that have a historical legacy of occupation in Colorado.
Eligibility: Non-resident, full-time, degree-seeking, Native American students are eligible if they are citizens of tribes that have a historical legacy of occupation in Colorado (see the following link: http://www.nacc.colostate.edu/nala). Students who transfer from ribal colleges and are registered citizens of federally recognized tribes are also eligible (other qualifications apply). Award Amount: This award reduces non-resident tuition to Colorado-resident base tuition plus $500. It cannot combined with the Western Undergraduate Exchange (WUE), Yellow Ribbon Award or other non-resident institutional scholarships. Description: This is a scholarship opportunity for women from developing countries. Since 1981 the Margaret McNamara Memorial Fund (MMMF), a 501(c)(3), not-for-profit, public charity, has awarded scholarships to outstanding women from developing countries, who are completing degrees at US/Canadian universities and are committed to improving the wellbeing of women and children in developing countries.
Eligibility: Eligibility (criteria are also available on the MMMF website: www.mmmf-grants.org) She must: Have a record of service to women and children and a commitment to improve the lives of women and children in developing countries. Be enrolled (in residence) at an accredited U.S. or Canadian educational institution for the academic year 2010-2011, intend to be enrolled for the 2011-2012 academic year, and use the grant toward the completion of her degree.
