Laboratories, Facilities, and Equipment
The Department of Psychology is housed in the Behavioral Sciences Building, which is centrally located on campus, near Morgan Library and the Lory Student Center. The Department occupies over 100,000 square feet of research, laboratory, instructional and office space. Each of the mentors listed on the Faculty Mentor page has their own research lab, with modern equipment that is suitable for the type of research they conduct. In addition, the following laboratories and equipment are available to undergraduates participating in the Summer Program:


Other Equipment and Facilities
~ A head-mounted virtual reality system for creating and conducting psychology experiments in a virtual reality environment.
~ A Maxwellian-view optical system for research on human vision.
~ A portable EEG system in addition to the two systems that are housed in the electrophysiology facility.
~ A modern eyetracking system that may be used in research areas such as attention, psycholinguistics, and web design and usability.
~ Multiple Biopac systems for measurement of ECG, EEG, EMG, EOG, Pulse, Airflow, Respiratory Effort, Lung Volume, Reaction Time, Skin Temperature, and Galvanic Skin Response.
~ Specialized devices to examine rotary pursuit, reaction/movement time, and backwards mirror drawing.
~ Computer-based testing rooms that allow multiple participants to be tested simultaneously.
~ A mobile computer lab comprised of 14 laptops that may be used for running multiple participants at once, or to conduct research off campus, when necessary.
